Further good news on the local food front…along with the wonderful news about the Cabbagetown Farmers’ Market, this week sees the launch of this year’s Taste of Regent Park from 5:30 – 8:30 pm in the big park at Dundas and Sackville.
There is a Twitter Account, and here’s a note from the Community Food Centre Manager:
The official launch of Taste of Regent Park is this Wednesday, June 17, 5:30-8:30 pm in the big park at Dundas and Sackville. There will be a Good Food Market offering affordable, local and organic produce, food demonstrations, pizza from our bake oven AND a delicious meal of chicken or veggie curry prepared by the Show Love Café – available for a $3 donation. Please come out to enjoy and bring everyone you know!
Also wanted to introduce you all to Brianna Horvatin, our new Market Manager for Taste of Regent Park. Brianna will be overseeing the fruit and vegetable sales at the market as well as the coordination of community programming during Taste of Regent Park. So if you are interested in offering activities in the park (art, sports, music, dance, ANYTHING!) please contact Brianna at rpcommunitymarket@gmail.com to get on the schedule for a Wednesday this summer!
If you have caterers who are interested in cooking this summer for a nice honorarium, connect them with Emily McKenzie at EmilyMC@tcrc.ca . Spots are filling up but there is still room!
