Saturday April 23rd, 10:30am is set as our Annual Spring Clean-Up. We will be meeting at 10:30am at the Amelia Street entrance to Wellesley Park. All are welcome!
The Spring clean-up was started by a local resident to address garbage buildup in and around Riverdale Park. That resident then joined the CRA board and it has since become a CRA-led initiative.
Each year local residents’ get together on a Saturday in Spring to clean-up the parks. The CRA liaises with the city for a special garbage pick up, to ensure everything that’s collected is promptly taken away.
The Spring cleanup coincides as close as possible to Earth Day (snow melt permitting!)
More recently, the CRA decided to add in a Fall clean-up day too, to extend the efforts to Wellesley Park, in recognition of World Clean-up Day, which happens in September each year.
