Peggy Kurtin Award For Excellence In Restoration – Submissions Due By April 15, 2016

If you (or someone you like), has completed significant restoration to the front of a Cabbagetown home, then why not let our friends at the Cabbagetown Preservation Association (CPA) know about it and perhaps win a well-deserved award?

To see previous year’s winners, this gallery shows them going back to 1993.

The following is from the CPA’s website:

“The deadline for submissions for the 2016 CPA Peggy Kurtin Award for Excellence in Restoration is April 15, 2016. The winner will be announced at the May 2016 CPA Public Meeting.

The CPA celebrates great work in restoration as it presents this Award every year. It is named after Peggy Kurtin (1932-2009), a former CPA president who, for many years, was the soul and engine of heritage in Cabbagetown.

Owners who have completed some significant restoration work to the front of their homes (or other building) within the past two years are likely eligible. Unfinished work but work expected to be completed before the final date for annual submissions – which is April 15th of each year – may also be eligible. The CPA looks for entries that will enhance the streetscape of our community through an imaginative understanding of the scale, materials, and detailing which have contributed to the character our streets.”
