Our good friends at the Winchester Park Residents’ Association will be holding a General Meeting on June 7, 2016. Here are the details:
Date:
June 7, 2016
Time:
7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location:
Hugh Garner Co-op Party Room
8th Floor party room
130 Ontario Street
Agenda: This is a general meeting to update you on the work the Executive has been doing and progress made with respect to the Accountability Working Group regarding the Winchester Street TCHC rooming houses, Bleecker Street block busting and illegal rentals as party houses as well as neighbourhood safety and security concerns. This an important meeting. We have a lot of information to share with you concerning our community.
Guest speaker: Bruce Rivers Executive Director of Covenant House will be joining us to speak about the Transitional home for young women which will be opened in the next few months in our neighbourhood. The women who will be living in the home have been engaged in Covenant House programs for some time and will continue to receive support from Covenant House. The home will have a live-in House Mother as well as other on site supports. This is a project we feel very positive about and look forward to welcoming Covenant House into our neighbourhood. Following this brief talk by Bruce Rivers with time for question and answers, we will move onto the WPRA business and our business agenda.

Hello,
My name is Jacqui, I’d like to attend your meeting on June 7 th as I live in the neighbourhood and feel the information discussed will be beneficial to me. Thank you.
Hi Jacqui!
That’s great. I don’t think that they require an RSVP or anything, so I would recommend showing up at the time/location mentioned.
The Cabbagetown Residents’ Association Annual General Meeting is the following evening on June 8, so if you’re in the area and are interested – please feel free to come by then also!
