Spotlight on Sponsorship: F’Amelia

John from F'Amelia
Patio season is in full swing here in Cabbagetown and one of the best places to cool your heels while sipping a fine Chardonnay is one of our local hidden gems of the neighbourhood – F’Amelia.

Located at number 12 Amelia St., F’Amelia has become a “go to” place for people all across the city who are looking for great Italian food and wine. Owners Todd Vestby and John Dawson (pictured) opened the restaurant five years ago and specialize in handmade pastas, in-house cured meats and wood-oven-fired pizzas. A meal here wouldn’t be complete without a glass of something from the wine list which boasts a number of beautiful wines selected personally by John and Todd.

As a business owner John reflects on what he loves about Cabbagetown – “Everything…the houses, the parks, the farmers’ market, the high street and the people”. As a resident he comments “We live in the city but feel like we live in a village on the outskirts of the city!”

F’Amelia has been a strong supporter of the Forsythia Festival over the past five years and this year generously became a Gold Sponsor of the festival. When asked what aspect of the Forsythia Festival he really appreciated John pointed out the festival is “all about the kids – I have attended the festival for 10 years and love everything it represents”.

The Forsythia Festival wouldn’t happen without the generous sponsorship and support of local businesses such as F’Amelia.

So if you are out and about, looking for a place to relax with a glass of wine or a little something to eat, be sure to stop by 12 Amelia St. But be careful….your experience at F’Amelia will be so good that it could become an addiction! And to further your addiction, F’Amelia will be opening for brunch this Fall!
