If you notice a bit more colour at Parliament and Carlton the next time you’re walking by, you’ve got the Cabbagetown BIA to thank.

The sign above Royal Home Hardware had begun to deteriorate, so the BIA replaced it with a new, vibrant sign, still featuring the same whimsical design that has marked the intersection for many years. With a nod to the positive energy in the neighbourhood, they decided to change “Old Cabbagetown” to just “Cabbagetown” since…well…since it’s ok to admire our long heritage, but not so nice to point it out.
