We were impressed by this announcement in May that indicated that people with disabilities would be able to vote online or via telephone in the upcoming municipal elections.
Unfortunately, it looks like nobody asked the techies how long this would take to build and test, so it’s now not going to happen at least this year.

Given the risks involved in votes being cast in this way (hackers, overzealous politicos, intelligence agencies), it’s probably for the best that they make sure it’s done right the first time, but hopefully it doesn’t take too long.
