Forsythia Festival

May 4, 2014

Every May, Cabbagetown residents gather at Wellesley Park (where Wellesley St. E. ends, just east of Sumach St.) to celebrate the official welcoming of Spring.

The Forsythia Festival was founded in 1971 by the late Tony Brady (1935-1991). Tony was a Cabbagetown resident renowned for his community spirit and love of entertaining young people. The Forsythia Festival was his pride and joy and he can be credited with popularizing it as an annual event in Cabbagetown.

The festival is organized by a committee of volunteer Cabbagetown residents and is made possible by the generous support of our local businesses.
