Cabbagetown: Tales of Winchester Street walking tour

Take a stroll down Winchester Street, known as “stroller alley” for the children taken to Riverdale Farm on weekends. Learn about the street’s long history connecting people and institutions—including Riverdale Zoo, Necropolis cemetery, and Riverdale Park—as the main route between the area and Toronto’s downtown before 1918.

NOTE: The tour travels mainly on flat sidewalks, but includes one steep hill. Tour starts at the east end of Winchester Street.
