We have received a report of a house break-in on Nasmith Avenue during the afternoon today. The residents found that someone had broken a kitchen window at the rear of the house, but once the intruder(s) opened the back door a house alarm was triggered and the residents think that this scared the burglar(s) away. Nobody was home at the time and nothing appears to have been taken, but a black leather jacket was found near the broken window.

Police were notified and have taken statements from the residents.
