This week’s pic from the past goes WAY back to around 1896 and the Joseph W. Weston butcher shop located at the North West corner of Parliament Street and Carlton Street (where Kanpai Snack Bar is located today). The man in the doorway is Joseph W. Weston with his daughter Ann Fern Weston in front of him. The picture is labelled 1896, but Ann Fern was born January 26, 1896 so it’s possible that the picture was taken slightly later.

Joseph died in 1922 at age 58. Ann Fern passed away in 1995 at the age of 99. (canadianheadstones.com)
