Riverdale Park Improvement – Come join us this weekend

Dear Friends and Neighbours,

Your voices have been heard!

Recently, you expressed concern about the state and safety of the hillside behind the clubhouse in Riverdale Park West (from River & Spruce to Geneva & Riverdale Park Rd). Through the last two commuity surveys, you expressed a desire to clean up the area and remove invasive plants that obscure sight lines, encourage dumping and other unwanted behaviour. Mature trees will not be affected.

Please join your neighbours and staff of the City of Toronto in phase one of a re-landscaping and revitalization of Riverdale Park West.

What: tree and bush pruning, clean-up, removal of unnecessary foliage
When: Saturday March 27 from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Where: meet at the clubhouse at the bottom of the path in the Flats
What to bring: good sturdy shoes, garden gloves, pruning shears, rake, enthusiasm
Rain date: Sunday March 28 from 10:00am to 1:00pm

Staff from the City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation will be present to direct volunteers in the pruning and removal processes. City staff will bring heavier equipment, shovels and disposal bags.

We are thrilled to invite you to this community event; the first of many as we work together to improve our neighbourhood Park. Please share this invitation with your friends and neighbours. Remember … many hands make light work.

In advance, we thank you for the time you may invest this coming weekend. We look forward to seeing you Saturday morning.
