You’ll recall that we wrote in April about the possibility that residential speed limits in many parts of Toronto, including Cabbagetown might be reduced.
This evening, Toronto and East York Community Council voted on this matter and the result is that speed limits will indeed be reduced on many residential streets. It will likely take some months for signs to be replaced.
As we wrote in the earlier post, there is a chance that City Council will vote to over-ride the decision although this is not common. Funding for the replacement of the signs and changes to some timed lights that would be affected is also a factor that might affect this change.
