Some exciting news regarding a new YMCA coming to the area courtesy of the upcoming 2015 Pan Am / Para Pan Am games. The facility (82,000 sq. ft) built for use during the games is to be converted into a new YMCA in winter 2016. The building is located at the corner of Front and Cherry Streets and looks like it will be a great addition to the neighbourhood.

They are seeking input on the planned green roof to be built atop the facility, so here’s your chance to chime in. An in person consultation session is scheduled at 51 Division on February 24th from 7 – 8 PM. They plan to get back to the community with 3 design options for final voting in March and then build in April!
