Residents might recall that last year, the Cabbagetown BIA organized a FREE “Movie in the park” event that was a lot of fun. So much fun, that they are doing it again on Wednesday July 19, with a rain date of Wednesday, July 16.

 The BIA ran a survey to pick a movie for this year and the winner is … The Goonies! In this 1985 film, as described by IMBD, “In order to save their home from foreclosure, a group of misfits set out to find a pirate’s ancient valuable treasure. ”

This year’s event will include some local food vendors and a band starting at 7 p.m. Bring a blanket and arrive early to claim your spot in Riverdale Park West, just steps west of Riverdale Farm. Ar matey, see you there!
