In Memoriam: Peter Oliphant

Sad news in Cabbagetown with the news that Peter Oliphant passed away on January 30. The funeral service is today, so if you can attend, I’m sure the family would appreciate your support.

Peter Fisher Oliphant
1928-2016

Died peacefully at home on January 30, 2016. Survived by Robert White, his life partner of 54 years, their family; Ann (Eric), Susan (Leigh), Christopher (Ronna), Michael (Marina) and Jane Palmer, 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and special friends Elaine Simms and Matthew Simpson. Peter and Bob established Oliphant & White in 1980 to work with those in the arts community and have developed many close friends through this activity. Peter was active on the boards of many charitable organisations including the National Ballet of Canada (Treasurer, 1960s) and the Textile Museum of Canada (Chairman, 2000s). As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the Textile Museum of Canada. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 520 Sherbourne St., on Friday, February 5th at 1:30 p.m.
