Yep…it’s nearly here! Cabbagetown officially welcomes Spring at the 43rd annual Forsythia Festival, brought to you by your friendly, neighbourhood Cabbagetown Residents Association.
A Parade, Pony Rides, Bouncy Castle, Face-painting, Music, Food, Beer, Prizes, Tree Planting and much more… all in our neighbourhood!
The Parade Gathering begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of Winchester and Sumach Sts. and the parade begins at 10:30am. Come celebrate our Festival Queen, Jen Van der weerd, who has been crowned in recognition of her hard work organising the first ever Cabbagetown Pumpkin Walk and our Festival Grand Marshal, Pete Lovering, in recognition of his hard work on the Parliament Street News and the donation of his time and effort with designing the CRA survey postcard.
This is a rain or shine event, so come by even if you have to bring wellies and an umbrella. Bring your change to buy prize tickets (3 for $5), food ($1-$4) and beer ($5)! If you’re going to tweet, use our hashtag: #forsythia. Posters like the one below will be available at the Festival for $5 each as mementoes of the day.
A special THANK YOU to the many local Cabbagetown businesses who have provided financial and in-kind support to make this year possible, and to our volunteers who have helped to organise this event.
