Producers of the TV series “The Strain” are alerting residents that they’ll be filming in the area on Monday March 16th, with some parking and traffic restrictions from March 15th at 7 am up to March 17th.
Interior and exterior scenes will be filmed at 39 Metcalfe St. on March 16th.
8 am – 11 am: Intermittent traffic control (not longer than 3 minutes at a time) will be conducted by Toronto Police Services on Winchester St. and Metcalfe St. while external filming occurs.
11 am – 3 pm: Internal Filming.
Parking:
The production company has made arrangements with St. Martin School (55 Salisbury St.) to allow residents who would be displaced to park in the school lot (at no cost to residents). They will have security in the lot beginning Sunday March 15th at 9 am and ending Monday March 16th at 5 pm.
Justin Cossette is the assistant location manager and will be speaking to local residents and providing parking passes when needed. If you need to call him, his mobile phone number is 416.831.3825. You can also see the security guards at the parking lot if you need to obtain a parking pass.
During the exterior filming, the crew needs to clear Metcalfe St. between Winchester St. and Carlton St. of cars. Residents with cars in this area are asked to use the school parking lot as a dearth of cars on the street is desired as part of the shoot.
Equipment Trucks:
The producers will be parking equipment trucks on Winchester St., between Parliament St. and Sackville St. on the south side, as well as some periods where trucks will be parked on Metcalfe St. between Winchester St. and Carlton St. on the west side.
