Did you know that there is a not-for-profit organisation called the Toronto Wildlife Centre that does excellent work promoting the peaceful coexistence of people and wildlife.

They helped me out a while ago when a pigeon dropped on to my driveway and seemed too ill to fly away*. They provide medical care to sick, injured and orphaned wild animals with the ultimate goal of releasing healthy animals back into the wild.

Obviously, organisations such as this rely on donations and volunteers so if you can help them out, I recommend them highly.

*Unfortunately, the pigeon had an incurable disease and they euthanized it – but it was a more comfortable end than it would have had if left unattended.
