A resident wrote in to let us know of a knife-point robbery that occurred on June 15 at 11:45 p.m. The affected resident agreed to let the community know what occurred so we can be extra-vigilant and hopefully identify the assailant. Here is a description of the incident:
“A young male riding a long board near the intersection of Amelia and Sackville, followed a resident of Amelia Street a short distance west of the intersection. The person got off his board on the opposite side of the street, ran after the resident, crossed over and jumped out in front of the resident. A knife was held out and cash was demanded. The resident complied and the boarder took off. This incident occurred about 11:45 p.m. June 15. The boarder had a bandana/scarf pulled over his face, up to the eyes. The police responded and took a statement. The resident had only been walking for less than 3 minutes from the bus stop at Parliament and Wellesley. A person riding a long board was heard going up and down the street prior to the incident. No injuries were sustained from the knife, but the resident was and is, very shaken and distressed.”
