Over time, we have heard from a number of residents that the intersection at Carlton and Sumach Streets is particularly plagued by drivers failing to stop at the 4-way stop as well as for excessive speeding. We aren’t able to tell whether the offenders are local residents or motorists attempting to bypass the traffic along Gerrard Street East by driving north through the neighbourhood.

We spoke with Kelly Sather (Councillor McConnell’s Constituency Assistant) for our area about the matter and she passed along our concerns and a couple of days later, on the morning of Friday, January 20, enforcement officers from 51 Division stopped 15 motorists at that intersection and will be keeping the intersection on their radar.
