Toronto’s Municipal Licensing and Standards dept. is undertaking an investigation of rooming houses around Toronto and Cabbagetown is one of the neighbourhoods that will be included.

Councillor McConnell will be asked to share her “experience with rooming houses and to assist in identifying neighbourhoods and participants that should be consulted during the review.” This will likely mean that residents groups such as ours, and other interested parties like rooming house tenants/operators, local agencies and other stakeholders will be asked for their opinions.

An initial report will be presented in June 2015 with a final report expected in December 2015.
