This month, we have board member Lindsay Matheson giving her $0.02.
Best place in Cabbagetown for a bite to eat… It’s hard to pick just one as there are so many choices these days. For a little morning or afternoon treat, I love the spicy hot chocolate at Merry Berry (I like 11 drops of spice, no more, no less). For a super quick snack on the go, the roti wraps from Absolut Bakery are wonderful. Finally, for a proper meal, I have been loving the rice bowls from Kingyo.
Cabbagetown needs… A kids toy/book store. With the huge number of kids I see daily, it seems like a no-brainer. I would love to be able to buy presents and necessities locally.
Favourite block… Metcalfe between Carlton and Winchester is a pretty wonderful block. We just moved off of it after 4 years and really miss the block. Especially at Halloween.
Best public space… The paths in the Necropolis. My daughters and I have spent a lot of time walking and biking on them. It is so peaceful.
Favourite store… Not really a store, but one of my favourite places to visit is the Children’s Book Bank. It is such a special place, doing so much good, in a beautiful and thoughtful way.
Cabbagetown pet peeve… Piles of dog poop left behind. It drives me crazy. CRAZY!
Cabbagetown’s best kept secret… Can’t tell you, or it wouldn’t be a secret. But man, is it ever good! (And, on a practical note, the Family Doctor available to neighbourhood kids who is at Sprucecourt Public School on Tuesday mornings).
Best reason to join the Cabbagetown Residents Association (CRA)… Because we are a hard working bunch of volunteers who love Cabbagetown, but we need your input about how we can help make it an ever better place to live.
