Dear Neighbours,

In September 2011, City Council voted unanimously to give the Riverdale Farm Coalition until Spring 2012 to create a new business plan for Riverdale Farm. You may recall that our petition was signed by more than 10,000 people from 41 neighbourhoods across the city.

It is important to the Coalition that residents of Toronto have an opportunity to share their vision about what the Farm can or should be and offer their ideas to make this vision a reality.

The Riverdale Farm Coalition is committed to ensuring that communities across this city have an opportunity to participate in this process and that their ideas are considered.

Expected project start date: January 3, 2012
Expected project completion date: May 2015

The City of Toronto has identified major watermains between Spadina Avenue and River Street that need to be replaced to increase capacity and maintain the safety and reliability of the water supply. This project is part of the Toronto Water cast iron watermain replacement program. A Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Schedule A) study was completed in January 2008 to determine a preferred route for the replacement of the watermain. Construction of the very large pipe will be done by tunnelling underground, which minimizes traffic delays and community disturbances.

What’s New
Construction work to begin in Allan Gardens south east corner on January 3, 2012. Schedule of other construction sites to be announced soon.
